Colour week Tando Creative

Hi, today its my turn over on the Tando Creative Blog.

This week is a colour week, and Novembers colour palette is:-

Festive berry colours…

So, here is number 11 mixed media board

This is one of the larger boards and was painted using paperartsy fresco paints.  I usually use all five colours on my projects, but, this month I decided to just use three….. I also dug out my crackle texture paste as I was keen to try a technique I saw on facebook, it didn't turn out as I wanted but its a good first attempt!! the base was stencilled using the tando sequin waste stencil, a mini arrow and whimsical house was also added.

Do pop along to the Tando blog for some more colour inspiration this week.

Hallowe'en

Hello on this Hallowe'en Wednesday…. today is my first Wednesday post over on the bubbly funk blog - this will now be my regular day, so you'll know where to find me!!

Today, I decided to do a one page book - I've not seen these before and they are really easy to do so I will be making many more!!

This is the front of my book.
Using my gelli plate, I added paint, added a stencil, and then took a print with an a4 sheet of paper.  Using one of the new Bubbly Funk Stencils (released tomorrow) I added stars to my sheet and painted.  Due to the base being paper it took a while for each stage to dry… and I must admit I did get a bit impatient!! Once dry I folded into the book.

I decorated each double spread separately….

each page was decorated using neocolour 2 pencils, stamps and doodles!!

I'm just loving these coins (as well as the cards), so I've made a pair…

So, both bases, were painted with orange, red and yellow acrylic paint and then had black added around the edges.  Hallowe'en was stamped onto painted paper and added along with some Tim Holtz Halloween pieces - and paper dolls were added. Some doodling was added around the edges using ink pens.

Pink Ribbons and threads

Hello, the theme this week, over on the Tando Creative blog, is:-

Pink Ribbons and Threads for breast cancer awareness month.

Here is my project:-

The base is a Tando ATC (Artist Trading coin) which was painted with Paperartsy Fresco acrylic paint.  Once dry another hue of pink was added through the bubbles stencil (which is vastly becoming my favourite, and much used stencil).  A deeper tone of pink was added to act as my "threads".  I tied a ribbon with pink ribbon and added some small pink flowers, with some stickers to finish off the piece.

Do pop on over to the blog this week where you will find loads of great pink and threads inspiration for breast cancer awareness month.

Artist Trading Coins

Hello, I'm just coming to the end of two weeks off work and its been a lovely relaxing time (apart from starting Sian's old bedroom!!, several trips to the dump and all that decorating entails!) - its also given me a chance to catch up on some crafty projects and to partake in the Paperartsy fortnightly challenge - the theme for the last two weeks are Artist Trading Coins so I'm in!! lol

Here is one of the coins I've created…

The base is a Tando Creative AT coin and I added grungepaste thro' a stencil… I then added Paperartsy fresco chalk acrylic on the top, blending in four colours… I then stamped one of the flowers from Tracy Scotts ETS07 set, coloured and cut out and adhered to the top of the coin - a couple of stickers were then added to finish it off….

In keeping with other months, here is my mixed media board number 9

Tando Anything goes week...

Hello, over on the Tando blog this week the theme is "anything goes" - I've decided to share my ATC's  (both a card and some coins)

The thing with the crafty world is that things always come around again…. ATC's were all the rage a few years ago with everyone swapping on a regular basis and forums having  monthly swaps, I've got ring binders full of ATC's from swaps and also my own challenge of create an ATC a day!

So, a few months ago a friend of mine said, fancy an artist trading coin swap?, what?? whats one of those, searched the web and there were a total of 2 posts! today there are loads.. and to join in the fun here is my offering for Tando this week:-

Up first is my ATC (card) …

The base can be found here - also used was the bubbles stencil which is fast becoming my no 1 stencil!!

Coin 1

The coin bases can be found here - also used on this card was the dot stream stencil and a butterfly from the a grab bag

Coin 2

Sequin waste stencil along with some hearts from the mini range on this one.

Coin 3

The bubbles stencil was used again along with three stars from the mini stars pack.

Acrylic paint was used on all ATC's…

Today its my turn over on the Tando Creative blog and this week its August colour week.

The vibrant colour base for August is:-

…. and here is mixed media board 8/12

Acrylic paint was added to the base with white paint stencilling added…. I added a thin layer of white paint so that my stamped text would stand out more.  I added a text box using an aquarelle pencil.  I painted a butterfly white and added black doodling using my pencil (My butterfly is inspired by a day out butterfly watching with Steve - its based loosely on the marbled whites we were fortunate to see).

Do pop on over to the Tando Creative blog for some more colour projects this week.

Domino week

Hello, hope you're all having a good Tuesday.

This week over on the Tando Creative Blog the theme is "dominos" - here is my piece:-

My base is created using three of the tando creative dominoes found here.  I taped them up on the reverse before adding acrylic paint and doodling …. I then added a stamp and added definition to the flowers and leaves on her head dress.  Once all dry, I removed the tape and mounted them onto black cardstock separating them slightly.

Do pop on over to the Tando blog this week as there are loads of domino projects planned.

Paperartsy Transfer fortnight

Hello, what lovely weather we are currently having - although the garden could do with some rain! unlike where my son is, he is currently living in Japan where floods and an earthquake have left the area in a vunerable state.

This fortnight over on the Paperartsy blog the theme is "transfers" - there are loads of different methods detailed, but, I have used my Tim Holtz transfers to add a focal point to my piece:-

My base is a cat food box which was die cut using a large primitive heart die.  I then took out my Paperartsy paints:- snowflake was painted on the base and then I added bougainvillea, carribbean sea and tangerine… I then stencilled bougainvillea over the top using sequin waste.  Black paint was then added to the outside and once dry doodled using a white pen.  Once everything was dry I added some transfers from Tim Holtz…. some small stickers were also added.

Tando Colour week

Hello, hope you're all enjoying this gorgeous weather we're having at the moment.  I absolutely love it - I'm defiantly a warm girl! hate the cold.

Today sees the start of another colour week over on the Tando Creative blog and I'm kicking off the week with my mixed media board number 7

First of all, lets see the colour palette for July:-

and here is my piece:-

I have used:-
Tando Mixed media board:- 74mm x 138mm as my base, this was given a coat of DecoArt tinting base.  As I didn't have the right colours I decided to use the darker colours, Quinacridone Violet and yellow iron oxide and then for the lighter tones to mixed with titan buff… these four colours made up my base… using Napthitol red light I stencilled thro some sequin waste to finish off the base.

My bird was painted using the same colours and comes from the whimsical bird 1 set, glossy accents added some hi-lights to my bird.

A sticker sentiment finished it all off.

Do pop on over to the Tando creative blog during the week for some more colour themed projects.

Tuesday, June 26, 2018

Hello today its my turn to post over on the Tando Creative blog.

The theme this week is spray inks and here is my project:-

The base is a tag which was sprayed with ink.  Once dry I sprayed water thro' the have your say stencil by Andy Skinner for Tando - leaving the water for a few minutes before lifting the stencil and drying - this left a shadow on my tag - I then used a aquarelle pencil to highlight the edges of the letters and the tag.  I then painted a heart from the mega grab bag and a house from the whimsical houses 1 pack.    Some stickers finished off the piece.

Please pop on over to the Tando creative blog this week for some more spray ink projects.

Paperartsy paper dolls

Hello, hope you're all having a good Sunday - the weather is a bit iffy here in Suffolk today, hasn't rained yet, but, the sun doesn't seem to keen on playing either!!

With that in mind, and the fact that Fathers day is next Sunday, I'm in my craft room for the afternoon, singing along to iTunes!! lol

I also took the opportunity to join in with this fortnights "paper dolls" theme running over on the paperartsy blog

I found a piece of masterboard on my desk made with paper artsy fresco paints and cut it into a 2.5 inch circle, with the soul intention of creating an artist trading coin… (wow I'm loving these little coins as much as I do the cards!) - I added some washi tape, rub ons, doodling and of course some of Tim Holtz's paper dolls and et voila:-

and, here is 6/12 Media board:-

The base is the smaller media board, 80mm x 116mm, the base was painted using DecoArt media acrylics and various paint techniques used.  Using the same colours I also created a masterboard, so using this I stamped and cut out some circles from a Paperartsy set.  A hand written sentiment finished it off.

Trying something new...

Hello, I've recently been off work and during this time I had a "messenger" conversation with a crafty friend I've known for, well, now thinking of it, I'm not sure how long… but, she's so full of inspiration and has recently had me creating my first piece of "postcard" art.

So, during our conversation, she mentioned artist trading coins - what???? anyway, since that conversation these little coins have gone mad… so, here are my first three coins:-

and the three of them together.

I have a feeling that these are the first three of many!!

Also, during this conversation I was encouraged to try "index card" art… so here is index card number 1:-

Papered it...

Hello, today its my turn over on the Tando Creative blog.  The theme this week is to use paper…

Here is my papered large tag, from the mega tag pack:-

the base had text scrapbook paper adhered and then the edges sanded before having distress ink added.  I then took the dot stream stencil and added further ink to the base, further pieces cut from scrapbook paper are added along with a couple of hot air balloons from a Graphics 45 pad.

I love making master boards and have lots of cut offs sitting in the little basket on my desk, i dug out a piece and adhered this to a large butterfly from the butterfly mega pack… a key embellishment was added for its body.

A heart and some flowers from the mini packs are then covered in book paper and then inked around the edges.

There are lots of projects over on the Tando creative blog this week, pop on over and take a look.

March's colours

Hello, what a cold start to the week we are having, will the promise of heavy snow materialise tho? I hope not!!

Today starts the March Colour theme over on the Tando creative blog and its my turn to showcase my piece, here is the colour palette:-

As you will know, if you visit my or Tando blogs that this year for the colour weeks I am using the Tando Creative media boards - so here is mixed media board 3/18

This month I have used the 80 x 116mm board and sprayed it with water letting it soak into the base, when semi dry I then peeled back layers and rolled the corners…. I also applied this technique to my butterflies (the grab pack of butterflies) this time lifting the top layer off totally…. I left the pieces for several days to ensure that they were completely dry and then I added the purple colour tones to the base and doodled with matching paint, and then painted the butterflies, doodled and added some bling….

Do pop on over to the tando blog this week for some more colour pieces.
