Sunday

The weeks are flying and we are now heading towards August with frightening speed.  That means that Josh will soon be going back to Uni and I, along with all other Mums, will be starting to make lists to ensure that he has everything ready to go back with.  At least this year he'll be starting on time!!

I made a terrible blunder on Friday, and one I don't intend to make again.  I'd signed up to do a post for Tando Creative and it was only on Friday morning that I remembered, running late for work, there was no way I could do the post before I left - so, I've done it today! The piece had been made, well, altered on many occassions to ensure that we didn't fall foul of protocol! ages ago just totally forgot about writing up the post!! duh

This past week the team have been focusing on "Circles" and here is my contribution

The base is from a circle frame.  I covered it with a layer of distress stain, then using the multi circle mask I added distress ink, then I used the sequin mask to add another colour ontop...using black and white pens I then doodled hi-lights onto the backing.  Did you see Joannes You Tube vid on Wednesday, if not take a look here, I used this technique to produce the circles down the middle which were from the circle grab bag.  The border across the base is a sizzix alterations die and coloured using dylusions ink sprays.  The Butterfly's are the new minis - wow I love all of those minis - have you seen them yet? These ones were coloured using distress inks and then outlined with a gold pen and then glossy accents over the top, the cogs are from the cogs grab bag, coloured with distress inks, stamped and then crackle glaze added - these were embedded into stampendous frantage enamel (love that stuff!!) the sequin mask was used in the top section with texture paste and a little colour added....

Don't forget that today sees the blog hop winner announced and one lucky person will get a fab prize - if you took part pop on over to the blog to see if it was you!

TANDO CREATIVE - BLOG HOP

If your participating in the Tando Creative Blog Hop, you'll have reached my blog via the very talented Gez...as you will already know our theme for this blog hop is the Tando Book Plates...and very versatile they are too...

I just adore these book plates - the two sizes mean that they can be used on just about every project and being great chipboard you can decorate them to match your project...

I've used them on lots of projects, but, for this blog hop I've created two more:-

This tag uses two of the smaller bookplates - each one painted with acryllic paint and crackle paint added.

This big bookplate has been painted with acryllic and then a covering of matte accents added - the two leaves are from the new mini packs which are fab!

For all blog hoppers that leave a comment on everyone's blog there is a fab prize up for grabs.  If you get lost along the way just pop back to the Tando blog and link up from there.

Your next point of call is back to the Tando blog to finish off your hop!

Tando Creative - Bling Week

This week over on the Tando Creative blog the theme is

BLING

Here is my take:-

The base is a small wavy edged journaling block with a wavy edge domino and can you see the butterly, stars and key? they are some of the new minis which have just been released and they are totally FAB! there are other mini's available too...check out the Tando shop for new releases!

Tando can take alot of products, wet and dry, very well - this base plate was painted with acryllic paint and then over stamped and hi-lighted with white pen....the whole area was then given a thin covering of Ranger's Rock Candy stickles, the domino, mini stars, butterly and key were all treated in roughly the same way...a making memories word finished it off...

There are several other DT'ers taking part this week, pop on over to the blog to see what they've created with the theme "Bling"

Kathy's Sketch File

Each month over at kathy's sketch file a new sketch is published....these are great to kick that ol' Mr Mojo into action and can be adapted for any piece of art work...

This month this is the sketch:-

and this is what I've done with it....

After I took this picture and edited it I realised that the large black and silver centre piece used in the middle of the large white flower isn't there! I've searched hi and lo and its not to be found - I think the room of stash must have taken a liking to it....another one will be fixed there!! lolxx

thank You for looking and don't forget to check out those sketches on the blog....xx

that long?

has it been that long since I blogged? I really don't know where time is going - I seem to live for the summer and then constantly wait for it! for it never to arrive and then its winter again - being born in the summer I need sun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! where is it????????? perhaps its emigrated?

Anyway, what to show you today? ummmm

Well, you know at the Bramford crop we challenge each other? well, last month I challenged, Janet, Janina, Karen, Tracey and Nancy to alter dominos...we all chose a swap partner and made our domino for them....Janet was my victim and I made her this:-

the domino was coated with alcohol inks and then the front was stamped with a paperartsy stamp before being coated in glossy accents.  On the back I filled the number dips with glossy accents then popped a piece of bling into the wet glue....a ideology clasp was added so that it can be used as a keyring...

This month it was Traceys turn to set our challenge and she gave us all a mouse trap!!!!!!!!!!!! ummm now that has got me stumped!! rofl

Tando Creative July Challenge

Today sees the launch of the new monthly challenge over on the Tando Challenge blog....the theme this month is:-

TEXTURE

I'm kicking off the month with this:-

The base is a piece of Tando chipboard.  Whilst trawling the net I saw this on Hel's blog, which she had got here...and this technique is the base of my board....All of the decoration, and the mask to use the base technique, are all tando.  Most of the pieces were coloured using distress inks or acryllic paint and then various finishes ontop to make them crackle, matt or shine lolxx The tando numbers were painted with crackle paint.

Pop on over to the Tando Challenge blog - each month there is a prize, of your choice, up for grabs and the winners are all chosen by the random org so that everyone has a chance to win!

Hope to see you there...
