Recycling

was/is the theme for April over on the Tando challenge blog….today is the last day for entries and its also my turn to share my recycled piece:-

I started with:-

and turned it into:-

a tin for my brushes…well, I've been using it naakeedd for my brushes for quite some time!! lol….but now its all labelled.

I started off by making a paper template, I then cut my double sided adhesive sheet and attached letters, tando butterfly and some mini stars…I then added my metal over the top, gently easing over the letters and adornments…then using my metal tools I eased the metal into place, sanded back and covered with treasure gold…. I also scribbled on the base.  The hardest bit was easing the metal onto the tin! grief!! I did get a couple of creases, but, hey, it all adds to the shabby look….to finish off I added a bit of ideology to my butterfly and a gem, and some gems to my stars.

Pop on over to the Challenge blog and see the creative makes for this month.

Paperartsy - Ellen Vargo canvas

Over on the Paperartsy blog this week Ellen Vargo has been inspiring us all with her unique style - I really love the graphic lines of her stamps and can't wait to get my hands on the two new sets…

This week one of the projects was a 6 x 16" canvas - I haven't got any that size, but, did find a 4 x 12" blank canvas in my "box of goodies" lol

Here is my interpretation of her piece:-

I love the colour orange - another piece for my wall art…

Spots...

is the theme this week over on the Tando Creative blog and here is my piece for the week:-

lol, do you think I've gone a bit overboard with the spots??

My base is from the large, straight edges arches pack - these are such good value…as you can pop out all the centres, use the frames and then use the bases too…my base was painted with Paperartsy fresco paint, then using the sequin mask I used the bump technique to add my base dots….using the top of my paintbrush I added hi-lights to my spots….. I then created larger dots with paint and a spray ink top…. my butterfly from a grab bag, was covered with pink spotty paper, inked and then outlined using a paint pen and dots, the same pen was used to edge the arch…the phrase was also stamped onto the pink dotty paper and inked….

Tando creative will soon be opening an online store where you can buy Tando products direct from them…so, keep an eye out on the blog for the opening date.

This week we have a full week over on the Tando blog so hope to see you there…

Black and Blue

is the theme over on the Tando Creative blog this week…I'm kicking off the week with:-

my base is a base and two outers from the straight edged arches pack….The edges were painted black and the insides of the edges were painted blue.  The base was painted with two toned blues, paler blue in the middle getting darker as it went out to the edges.  I stamped a text stamp in the middle and masked it off before adding black (soot) distress ink thro' the sequin stencil and then darkened the edges - a text stamp was also added to the base….mini flowers, arrows and a butterfly were all painted with the same paints and then text added to some elements, a bird from the bird and branches set was added tot he top of the frame….

Don't forget to pop on over to the Tando blog this week for more black and blue projects.
