take 3

…so, for the first time ever, take 3 lol I just play with paint all the time, and every project I do has some paint in it somewhere, so this fortnights Paperartsy challenge has really been my thing… I really loved these pages by Anneke De Clerck, here is my take:-

I used the same colours for the back ground, but added some meshy stuff I found in my ribbon box! and some washi tape…. also added some doodling in the background…I didn't have the Darcy's stamps used on the original page but I did have these flowers from EDY09 - the smaller flower was from the same plate - all my flowers have been painted with the Lin Brown paints and then fussy cut. Can't wait to see what the theme for the next fortnight will be…

painty take 2

I'm so enjoying playing with the new Lin Brown paints from Paperartsy that I have taken advantage of this fortnights Paint theme over on the PA blog to create this:-

The base is a Tando Creative Mixed Media board which I painted with snowflake before adding the Lin Brown paints… I then stamped with the Ellen Vargo EEV06 before adding doodling and stamping from the old faithful text stamp… black dress was added to the outsides… the large bird is a new mini EM12 and the phrase is from ESN09…. a bit of bling on his crown and feathers finished off the piece…

cover with paper...

…is this weeks theme over on the Tando creative blog….I'm ending the week with:-

The base is a "twinchie" covered with paper from the Papermania Victorian Valentine pack, once adhered to the base I sanded the edges back and added distress ink.  The hearts are from the heart grab pack, one was covered with red bazaar paper and the other from a little piece of carta bella "words of love" - love song paper….these hearts were also had the edges sanded and distress ink added….a bit of bling and a "chitchat" word finished it off.

Today is the Sincerely Yours crafting show in Thetford, Norfolk - the doors open at 10am - if you are attending the show do call in at the Tando Stand where I will be assisting Di for the day… we would love to see you.

Painty…..

I do love my paint… would you agree after seeing this?

the entire second layer of my "Ikea" trolley is full and this is my Paperartsy paints… don't ask about any others!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so, when Paperartsy announced this fortnights theme as PAINTY wow fabulous just up my street and even more so I've created a piece in the first week! unheard off.  I haven't really used anyones specific technique just played…

So, I decided to use the new edition paints by Lin Brown - these are just gorgeous - so vibrant…my base is a cream tag and I gave it a coat of snowflake (white) and let that dry before adding my paints…

I then stencilled with the same colours, and stamped in snowflake using stamps from the Ellen Vargo 06 plate and a very old text stamp which came as part of a craft stamper sub gift many moons ago, I also doodled with a white pen...…

to finish off my tag I die cut two hearts and painted them using London Bus and Cherry Red…they each had a coat of gloss glaze before being sat upon some washi tape and a couple of words were added….

SHINY…..

is this fortnights (although its been three weeks this time) theme over on the Paperartsy blog.  Watching the initial video by Leandra reminded me of the times I attended the Artsycrafts weekends and I decided to dig out some old product and tools and re-visit those techniques I learnt many eons ago…

So, with that in mind I made this:-

I started off by stamping my red metal, which was a pack of mixed colours from Paperartsy.  Once stamped I used my metal tools to add shape, popping out the heart and edges, once I was happy with the effect I then filled the cavities with glossy accents….. I adhered cardstock to my metal and cut using the grunge flower metal die..once cut I stamped with the corresponding flower, then for the hard bit making the flower…although I still make these flowers out of cardstock its been quite a while since I made them out of metal! immmmmmm….lol the matching leaf was distressed with my tools and then a layer of treasure gold rubbed into the markings…these were then all put to one side.  My chipboard base which is an outer piece from a larger Tando creative board had a small amount of ferro added, a small amount as that was all I could salvage out of the many pots I had that have all now been demoted to the bin!!!! anyway, in line with our class this was stamped and then mica powders added….the edges were given the treasure gold treatment…..I then added my prepped pieces and a very large button to the top!

So far I've kept up with the PA's challenges….lets see how long it lasts!! lol

February

Well February has arrived wet and cold… hope everyone is keeping warm.  We have been very lucky here in Suffolk, we have experienced some snow over the last few days but nothing like some of my friends upt north!

So, today sees the start of another challenge month over on the Tando Creative Blog - do pop along and join in, its a great chance to win some fab Tando goodies…

this weeks theme is a colour theme:-

um not my favoured choice of colours I must admit, but, hey a challenge is a challenge! so, I've created this:-

I started with a mixed media board and painted it white to give it a base I then added spots of acrylic paint in a pale blue, pale lilac and a pale pink and then scraped along the board to create my base coat.  I then stencilled blue and pink paint thro' the sequin waste mask, and doodled with a white pen….I then painted a  flower with stem (from the grab bag), three mini flowers and a butterfly from the grab bag mixing the paints to add depth… once dry I gave them all an edging with distress ink and outlined in black…I used the same technique as I did for the base to add paint to a piece of card  this was then stamped with an old text stamp.
All product is available from the Tando Retail shop.

Pop on over to the Tando Creative blog for loads of inspiration this week and also a chance to win some great tando product.
