Hi, its mini week over on the Tando blog - I just love the mini range there are so many elements and just the right size for all projects… today I'm sharing an ATC..

I started off by painting my atc base with decoart tradition acrylic paint - using Kaz' dotted star mask and the mini distressed diamond mask I added a further layer of paint….my mini flowers, leaves, butterfly and owl were all painted using the traditions paint… each element being doodled on with black and white pens…a piece of hessian mesh was added to the base and the rest of the elements all added.

Don't forget to pop along to the Tando blog this week for more mini projects.

Free for all week

Hi over on the Tando Creative blog its Free for All week…its my turn today to share my piece..

I have chosen to use the Love Wall Art plaque..

All of the elements come in the kit….I started off my adding paint to my base layers…brown umber on the bottom element and turquoise on the smaller sections.  I then added a coating of crackle glaze and once dry added white paint over the top and waited for the cracks to appear! In the meantime I added red paint to my hearts and then overstepped before adding a layer of Decoart triple gloss… The other elements all had umber added and then gold outlines…. I edged all elements with distress ink and adhered all my painted pieces together.

Owls...

seem to be everywhere at the moment, I'm hankering after one to go on my chamilia bracelet too!! lol - anyway, every now and again we have a "same but different" week over on the Tando Creative blog - this is where the DT are given the same product to create with and during the week each of us with our different skill base shows that product in a different way… this time we are working with the new owl releases - the larger owls or the mini's

I have created a canvas board:-

I started off with a canvas board to which I added grungepaste using the Andy Skinner masks baroque and have your say I then added paperartsy fresco paint and when dry sanded the raised areas back before adding some treasure gold.  Taking my 2 large owls I painted these with acrylic paints, once dry I stamped the large wings with a crackle stamp and brown ink…glossy accents were added to the eyes. I printed off a saying, doodled and inked the edges, matted onto brown cardstock, I then added a couple of pieces of washi tape to the board and some faux nail heads…

Don't forget to pop on over to the Tando blog this week to see some more owl projects..

Paint……..

is on all my projects at the moment, so this weeks theme over on the Tando Creative blog is right up my street!! lol

This is my piece:-

Taking a Tando mixed media board I added colour using Dina Wakely heavy acrylic paints… once dry I added paint thro' the following stencils:- sequin waste, mini stencils - distressed sequins and distressed diamonds, I also added paint using a lid off an ink bottle and using an old text stamp…. whilst this was all drying I painted my heart, butterfly and arrow, all Tando minis - these were then doodled on using black and white pens and a little bit of bling added.  Once my board was dry, I drew a house and painted using the Dina Wakely paints….. all elements were then added to my board along with "cherish" which is a Tim Holtz script die…. I have been put off buying these dies as I was concerned about how to adhere these, properly, to projects - but, whilst watching the lastest tag creation by Tim Holtz he used a new zyron sticker machine, added adhesive, added the die and cut it - thereby adding adhesive to those fiddly little bits… the sticker machine is quite expensive, so, I put  my thinking cap on - I have lots of double sided sheets which I use when I use the Ten Seconds Metal sheets, so tried that, et voila - it works and sticks with no fuss or bother!! result - I see another purchase coming on…

Don't forget to pop on over to the Tando blog - there are more painty projects coming this week and don't forget there is an opportunity to win some prizes!!

Paperartsy - 2nd entry

Hi, second post today! must be a holiday!

A while ago I decorated this little wooden box using grungepaste and a stencil - it has sat on my desk unloved for some months, so this Paperartsy grungepaste fortnight has made me add some paint (Lin Browns new colour set), stamping (in snowflake using a very old and much loved Paperartsy text stamp) more stencilling and loads of treasure gold added to raised areas and edges and turned it into this:-

side look:-

it has definitely added some colour to my desk… (its filled with loads of treasure too (well, my sort of treasure) lol xx

Aprils colour theme...

Happy Easter…..

as always over on the Tando Creative blog - the first week of the month is our colour theme week and this week we are working with these colours:-

Using a Tando ATC as my base I created this:-

I have used Paperartsy's fresco paints on this project, some of their new colours and some of the old favourites…

I have painted the base and added paint stenciled thro the new mini distressed diamond stencil… I have painted a daffodil from the flowers with stems grab bag and also painted some eggs from the mini easter eggs pack all of the painted elements were given a coating of distress crackle rock candy before being adhered to my atc base.

A new challenge month starts tomorrow over on the Tando creative blog, do be sure to give it a look.

Grungepaste note book

This fortnight, but spreading to 3 weeks, theme over on the Paperartsy blog is to create using grungepaste.  Unlike most texture mediums, grunge is very clay-eeee and dries quickly.

A couple of weeks ago whilst walking around WH Smiths I came across a little keyring notebook, this time, I've come across an A6 notebook with kraftcover for 79p, bargain, and just ready to alter…so… this is what I've done with it..

Using a Tim Holtz mask I added grungepaste to the cover and left to dry.  Whilst drying, I added grungepaste to a Tando small book frame - I gave the frame a really thick coating and then added texture by cutting into the wet paste using my spatula…..and left to dry.

Using Lin Brown's new paints I added colour to my dry base, blending as I went along.  Once dry I added a covering of Treasure Gold…the frame, once dry, was painted using Fresco Old Gold paint, the owl is another Tando Creative creation and painted using fresco paints.
