Paperartsy - words

Hi, can't believe how long ago I blogged! how bad am I?

I made this piece for the Paperartsy words challenge…not really inspired by anyone just interpreting the theme…

I added the new Lin Brown Fresco paints to a page in my journal (I'm loving those new paints think I might have to invest in another set before they disappear) and then stamped with a very old paperartsy text stamp (now becoming a favourite to stamp with paint), I added stencilled letters in black.. and also stamped with Ellen Vargo plate 06 - I doodled around the edges and on the paint stamped images… Using a Tando stencil I added black paint once dry I took a white pen and scribbled on my image… the edges were hi lighted using a pencil.  I have also started on the next page… but, its not ready yet!! lol

TANDO - PEEL IT BACK

This week over on the Tando creative blog the theme is:-

PEEL IT BACK

the theory behind this one is to get the chipboard wet and then peel back the layers… this is harder than it sounds as the chipboard is such good quality you have to let the water soak in a fair while before attempting to separate the layers..

I have made this:-

I started off with an atc and spritzed it with water.. I left it for about 10 mins and then peeled off the top layer by rolling it back.. once I was happy with the corners and sides I left it over night to dry.  I selected two butterflies from the grab bag and spritzed with water and when soaked in, peeled back a couple of layers, ensuring that the body of the butterfly was left intact.. I then rolled the top wings and left over night to dry.

Once dry a light coating of acrylic paint was added - the bottom of the atc was stamped with a text stamp and then "wish", treasure gold was added to the rolled edges.  The butterflies were given a coating of rock candy distress crackle paste after some black doodling had been added…

Don't forget you can join in with our weekly themes and for one lucky player there is a prize! pop on over to the Tando blog and see what the other DT members have been up to and also join in with our challenge.

Paperartsy challenge - sprays

This last fortnight the paperartsy challenge has been spray inks… I started off by creating this..

using dylusions coloured ink sprays and then spritzing with the white ink…

then I created this:-

and then we lost Ty and all of my creativity has gone… and I ended up with these…

but with no idea, or inclination to do anything with them… my craft room was shared with Ty and he was always with me and I just couldn't bear to be in there….

but, yesterday…. I made this:-

The bottom tag was doodled and stencilled… the stamped saying is by Darcy and I think the plate is number 14? the flower is one of Lin Browns first plates and was stamped and then die cut with the matching die… I coloured the ribbon by spritzing on inks.. the remainder inks where soaked up with another tag…

not brilliant, but, at least a start…

RIP TY

Well, what a week in which we said goodbye to this fabulous boy…

Ty has been our constant companion for 13 years and 4 months, a good old age for a weimaraner… he has left a massive hole in our hearts and our house is now exceptionally empty, and quiet…as Ty has been with us for such a long time he is well known to our friends and neighbours and has grown up with our children and their friends, and it has been really lovely the comments that people have left and memories they have shared with us.

RIP my baby boy - miss you so very much, but, at least you are pain free now - see you at the rainbow bridge baby xx

TANDO COLOUR WEEK

Hi,

Over on the Tando blog this week we have a colour theme…

using some acrylic paint I made this mixed media board:-

I also used the "have your say" and sequin masks and also a mini owl… the saying is a stamp from Paperartsy… I also created this canvas board:-

I used the same acrylic paints and the same masks.. prior to painting I used grungepaste and the new mini stencil "distressed diamond".  I painted three butterflies with lime green paint and added doodling and liquid pearls… the stamped sentiment is from visible image.

Pop on over to the Tando blog for more colour pieces and also details on how to win some fab Tando goodies.
