It's Stencil week

over on the Tando Creative blog this week and today its my turn to share with you my Tando stencil pieces…

I made this piece first….

the base is a mixed media board which I covered with heavy acrylic paint….  I then stencilled, with paint, thro' the following Tando stencils…sequin waste maskmini distress sequins, mini distress harlequins…mixing the remainding paint together I then stencilled thro' an Andy Skinner Have your say mask…I then stencilled again with a black pen to make the piece pop…I added some white doodles and added black paint to the outside….I had every intention of adding the lady image from Andy Skinners vogue mask over the top, but, really liked the base so couldn't cover it over… I will do something with it tho'…

I still had the image of a black silhouette in my head tho' so created this:-

this time my base was a large straight edged arch….I added paint and then stamped in paint before adding paint thro' the same stencils as above…this time I added the small image and small balloons in black paint, using the Andy Skinner children mask….some black paint around the edges and some washi tape finished it all off…..

Pop on over to the Tando blog there are posts most days… and a great draw to enter too…

Deconstruction

…has been the theme this fortnight over on the Paperartsy blog.

Inspired by this post by Julie Ann Lee  I made this:-

I have had a  couple of these Nicho's in my stash for sometime and if I'm honest had forgotten about them.  I painted it with several different colours until I was happy and added some ocean blue perfect pearls, treasure gold (around the edges and I coloured a resin flower with "sapphire"), a charm and a beaded string.  The image is from the Lynne Perella Collection, LPC004 and was stamped onto a deconstructed envelope and coloured using polychromos…..

here is inside:-

I have stamped another image from the LPC004 and turned it before adding it to the inside along with a resin flower coloured with ruby treasure gold.  I then added an old button, coin and a bit of treasure…the image on the inside of my opening has been created the same as the front…

Crackle cheat

Hi, over on the Tando Creative blog this week the theme is "Crackle" - so, for my turn I have made this arch:-

I started off by taking a Karen's frame - gothic arch - the arch I had was white board which takes the distress inks I added really well leaving a great colour base to my pieces… I initially left the back board inside a frame and added my inks and then my crackle cheat - a very old cherry pie crackle stamp…which I added with brown ink across the two pieces… I then separated the two pieces and stamped the base board with a Paperartsy Lynne Perella stamp and black ink, I then adhered three outers together and mounted my base piece on the bottom….et voila… my crackle cheat.

Pop on over to the Tando creative blog and see the other crackly pieces… don't forget that we have a challenge running with prizes up for grabs…hope to see you there.

Sunday… miniatures 3

Sunday and its sunny - well, it was earlier clouded over a bit now, but, a sure sign that spring is on its way… yayyy!

So, today sees the last day of the miniatures fortnight over on the Paperartsy blog, whilst waiting the "hour" (which turned out to be nearly 2!) for my new glasses yesterday I wandered around the shops!!, as you do, anyway, whilst browsing in WH Smiths I found this:-

It measures 1.25" x 2.75" and the cover and back are really thick board - the label called it a keyring notepad….mind going overdrive it ended up coming home with me…

A splash of Lin Browns new paints, a bit of stamping with my very old Paperartsy craft stamper sub stamp, some doodling and a hand drawn house painted with LB paints and voila…

Paperartsy - miniatures part 2

Hello! Friday again, can you believe it?? - I have to go into town tomorrow as I pulled my glasses off my head whilst on the phone and the arm stayed behind my ear lol - I am managing on one pair but a bit concerned as the arm on one of the sides is a bit stiff I'd be lost without my glasses…. anyway, I digress, its miniatures fortnight over on the Paperartsy blog, I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed working on a small scale….so, for my second piece I have decorated/altered a small matchbox…

The box was painted with caramel fresco paint and then stamped using a crackle stamp and brown ink some treasure gold was added to the edges.  The text was from Ellen Vargo's plate 10 - stamped onto a piece of cardstock and the edges inked with distress ink, some flowers and bling were also added.

An inner cover was made to fit the box - flowers were placed on the bottom and a clay hand, made with white clay and a mould - also painted with caramel fresco paint with nail varnish and ring added..wrapped in flowers was added...

March

March is here already, before we know it the clocks will be going forward, I've noticed its much lighter when I finish work which is always a good sign that warmer days "should" soon be with us - notice I did say Should!

As its the first week of the month the theme over on the Tando Creative blog is a colour swatch… and here is March's colours

here is my piece:-

I started off by using a large straight edged arch and added paint from the Paperartsy fresco range.. I then doodled in paint and added a black swirl from the long flourish mask to create this to end up this as my background….

I then painted a small bookplate with the same paint and added some treasure gold, the flowers, stars and leaves were painted and doodled before clear rock candy distress stickles were added….

Pop on over to the Tando Creative blog to see if you are February's winner and to join in with this months challenges.

Paperartsy - miniatures take 1

This morning I meet up with Janet and spent a lovely few hours sitting at her kitchen table crafting - it was fab just chilling, drinking coffee and making a canvas for this fortnights theme over at Paperartsy….

The canvas is 2.5" x 3.5" - I started off using a variety of Paperartsy fresco paints - the blues were turquoise and mermaid and the purply one I can't remember!! I then doodled using cap lids and the ends of paintbrushes along with adding some doodling with neocolour 11 crayons, black and white pens….

I used the same paints to add colour to a piece of smoothy cardstock and then stamped using Lynne Perella stamp set 030 - I then added a couple of fragments to some of the stamped images and added that along with a metal strap to the canvas … and came up with this:-

Tando Arches week…..

Today is the last day of the arches week over on the Tando Creative Blog and I'm closing the week with:-

so my base is a back plate from a gothic arch layered frame - I added some texture paste thro' the small harlequin mask…. once dry I then painted the arch using Paperartsy fresco paints…. I then sanded back the harlequin areas before adding doodles and stamping with paint.  I painted one of the new mini owls, a mini butterfly , a mini key and an arrow with matching paint…  I then added the key to the body of my butterfly and added hi-lights using white and black pens…. my main image is a banksy stamp which I stamped directly onto the arch with versafine black ink - I then added grey pen to the edges…. some washi tape was then added to the base….  all items are available from the retail shop - keep an eye out for the new mini owls and the larger versions appearing soon...
