Tag you're it...

and this weeks theme is....

Brown and Aqua.......

I've had problems photographing this tag - not sure if its the glitz from the stickles or the glare from the glossy accents on the swirl...going to try and get DH or DD to photograph it with their better cameras to see if it makes a difference...

anyway, the background is blue jazz glimmer mist and on the other half basic grey paper this was then stamped with the paperartsy circles, bet you didn't know I had that stamp!! lol, the swirl is cut on the cricut, coloured with stream dauber and then glossy accents to hi light, the flowers are cut on the cricut too and the edges glitzed with turquoise stickles, the beads are a couple of my pins and a little charm finishes it off.

Pop on over to the TYI challenge blog and see the other tags, they're just gorgeous - we love visiting the blogs and seeing what our taggers have created...why not take a break from the Christmas crafting and join us we'd love to see what you come up with in Brown and Aqua.

TOOT TOOT!

OH MY! I recently entered the Craft Stamper Stamper of the Year comp - I have just received my sub copy and a couple of my pieces have been published, in the best of the rest bit (page 48!!).............oh boy how fantastic is that. I'm so CHUFFED!! to have a couple of pieces in that mag - WOW its BRILL!!

The winning pieces are totally fab and so are all the other published pieces...

Can you tell I'm pleased??????????? lolxx

Its Friday so it must be......

Time for Tag You're it.....

So, the theme this week has been set by moi! and I have chosen tags in the shape of a Triangle....its an open theme and colour scheme this week too so I can't wait to see what the taggers taking part will come up with.....its always great fun travelling around blogs, and to be honest alot of them are ones you'd never find, to see what people are getting up to....

So, here's my Triangle Tag for this week:-

The background is a piece of basic grey paper which has been stamped with several stamps (including my fav paperartsy circles!), some of which were embossed in gold. The girl image is by art journey, the tag is a hero arts stamp and the saying is so true:- "Cherish yesterday, Live for today, Dream of tomorrow" this was fixed to the triangle using a little safety pin which has small beads threaded onto it....a bit of bling and a strip of beaded ribbon and some fibres finish it off.....

Pop on over to Tag You're It and see the other tags, they're GREAT! we would all love to see your Triangle tags too.....

Tag you're it - week 35 - Snow is falling...

...and boy did it last Sunday! within 1/2 hour we were white! didn't stay for long soon turned to dirty slush and then disappeared!

So, the theme this week over on Tag You're it is "Snow is Falling..."

Here is my attempt!

The tag was cut on the cricut and the background coloured with glimmer mist (most of which stained my fingers!! lolxx), white and silver snowflakes where then stamped and hi lighted using ice stickles and a blue gem, the snowman image is by personal impressions and that gorgeous saying is by Penny Black!

Pop on over to Tag your it and see the gorgeous tags created by Anne, Dawn, Sarah and Kath and join in the fun with us...

Tag you're it - sketch week....

Grief can you believe its Friday again? we've had a busy ol' week again this week mainly due to my 18 year old not being very well and being referred to hospital for tests and now waiting for a CT scan - its not until you're in these situations that you realise "busy" is nothing! the majority of us take good health for granted don't we and these situations really bring you back to base line! She's seeing a neurologist on Monday evening so hopefully we'll be a bit further forward, she does seem a bit better today!

Friday and its means a Tag you're it new challenge. This week Anne set the theme and gave us a sketch to follow...do pop over to the Tag you're it site and see the fabbie creations submitted by the dt.

So, here's my take on the sketch:-

The tag was cut on the cricut, as was the oval, the background is cranberry and lake mist dabs! then stamped over with gold text stamp and then white paperartsy circles a gold dauber on the edges finished it off. The paper is basic grey and the image magnolia coloured in with watercolours and hi lighted with stickles...

What a hoot!!

I attend a couple of crops a month and VERY rarely finish anything, if I'm totally honest I very RARELY start anything!! lolxx (unless its a secret project and I can't do it at home!) anyway, this Saturday the "gang" went off to Papermaze - and a very enjoyable time was had too! anyway, Steve, my DH, had taken these photos the week before and they were just "hooting" out to be scrapped! so, I had a go and here they are:-

A tawny owl had set up home in a hole in a large tree in the local park - one eagle eyed twitcher had noticed it and sent in a picture to the newspaper, anyone that knows my OH knows he just had to go and get his own piccies for the collection!!

Colour Challenge - red and green

Over on Tag you're it this week theres a colour challenge chosen by Kath - the colours to use are

RED and GREEN

Here's my tag for this week:-

The background is a cranberry dauber, with torn pieces of basic grey papers for the bottom and top and also stamped onto - her eyes have been shaded using a versacolour cube as a base for watercolour. Some bling and a prima flower finishes it off...

If you pop over to Tag You're it this week you'll notice that Kath has organised a gorgeous bundle of stash for one lucky tagger to win, last weeks winner has been announced too... only a shame us DT members can't enter!! lol

Its been another manic week, work wise, this week, hopefully things will start to calm down a bit to allow me to make a start on those Christmas cards...

Thank you for all your lovely emails - I do appreciate them all...

Heres my tag:-

time flies and boy does it -especially this week as I've had to put in some extra hours for work - but, also this year has flown too, can't believe that its nearly Christmas again! anyway, my tag, the background is Stream dauber and the words Time Flies are part of a Technique Tuesday pack, the clock face is a heidi swapp face which is surrounded by clock parts, the wings are grungeboard and the pocket watch is an old stamp by rubadubadoo....

Ghosties and Ghoulies and long legged beasties!

...is the title for this weeks challenge over on Tag you're it this week - well, with it being Hallowe'en what else could it be??

Here's my take:-

The background for the tag is chalked and the witch is a penny black stamp which has been hi-lighted with an orange wash - the bats and moon and pumpkins are all brads, larger pumpkin from an atc book.

Pop over to the tag you're it blog to see the other dt tags, they are totally gorgeous and join us in some fun creating your own tag....

Have a lovely Hallowe'en and for those witches out there don't create too much havoc! lol

Embossed ATC's....

These ATC's have been made for a swap with a dear crafting buddy

The backgrounds have all been painted with the ranger daubers, just loving those colours at the moment, the embossing down the side was done with a cuttlebug embossing file and then hi lighted with the gold dauber (loving that product at the mo) gems finished them off...hope my swap partner likes them xx

"Make your own....."

...is the challenge for the final leg of the Sassy Crafts design team selection - the brief is to Make your own ...... make anything you like on any theme with any colour scheme but all the embellishments must be your own work......

So,

Here's my offering:-
I cut the base shape out of white textured card, this was then painted with a Stream dauber and hi-lights added with the citrus dauber, the edges where stippled in gold. The gold edges down the middle are a cuttlebug embossing folder - which was then hi-lighted with the gold dauber, spots of crystal stickles finish off the centres. The ladies face is a stamp which has been watercoloured, I then doodled on her face...all highlighted with white pen. I made the beaded pins from coloured beads and a stick pin, the butterflies have been made using fantasy film, the trails are turquoise stickles. For the flowers I took a book page and coloured it using chalk inks, daubers and glimmer mists, to give it a bit of stability I stuck it down onto white paper, I then traced around a flower in two different sizes and cut them out, these were then teased and folded into shape the centres are bronze and crystal stickles.

Fingers crossed now.....I'll keep you posted.

Sassy Crafts DT call ....

.....Emma, over on Sassy Crafts, has put a call out for DT entrants! so, here's my "application"...

STAMPED IMAGE
This is a mini canvas I made for a friend. The background is coloured with distress inks and the central image is stamped, the word "DIVA" is stamped across the middle and down one side. The piece is finished off with UTEE in two corners and a metal embellishment in an other.

FAVOURITE PIECE
...is a recent tag. The base has been cut on the cricut and covered with basic grey paper and then stamped with various background stamps, in brown ink....a green piece of co-ordinations paper has been torn and embossed with the swiss dots cuttlebug folder. A cricut frame has been cut in black card and stamped in gold with a crackle stamp, the man insert is a paperartsy stamp stamped onto the same background paper. Some prima flowers, pearl gems and ribbon finish off the tag...

NEW PIECE - One large square and three smaller squares:-

The large square is the main shape - this has been stamped with a text stamp and 2/3rd run thro' the cuttlebug with the swiss dots.... Stampingtons Crimson fan stamp was stamped onto corresponding card stock, shaded and then three Tim Holtz Fragments were placed over and cut to make the smaller squares....the outsides of the squares were distressed using gold and bronze daubers, a pices of black ribbon and black pearls finished off the card...

Tag you're it - Colour Challenge

This week over on Tag you're it the challenge is to make a tag using brown, green and pink - here's my take on the theme....

Its been totally manic this week - and I can't believe that its Friday again! mind you, it does mean that I'll meet up with the girls tomorrow at the Papermaze crop!! we always have such a good time and a great laugh! and great inspiration from those very clever girls that crop!! just got to find some piccies......

Autumn....

....is the theme over on tag you're it this week - go check out the fabbie tags the girls have made...

I'm feeling rather sorry for myself today, thanks to my Son, Josh, I've now got an awful cold - couldn't sleep last night, my sinus' are tight, I've a raging head and puffy eyes and I'm achey all over.....not looking good - about 100 I'd say!! lolxx so I'm not going to do a lot today!!

Sian had a lovely birthday....her friends spoilt her rotten all day and in the evening we all went out with Grandparents and Great Grandparent for a lovely meal....a Baby Piccie Cake and a lovely prom photo in the paper sealed it all off.....Thank You all for her Happy Birthday wishes...

haven't seen many of these....

for a while! lol These inchies are for a monthly swap I do with a couple of my ol' forum friends....

The theme for these ones was Da Vinci....

We currently do a theme a month and take it in turns to choose - its a lovely way to share and create.

Well, tomorrow is a big day in this house - my daughter, Sian, turns 18! boy where did that go - we've been perusing the baby photos, you know for those embarrassing piccies in the paper and such like, and it only seems like yesterday, the baby, the toddler, baby brother, moving houses and now she's a beautiful young lady! just seems to have flown pass....looking back at the photos also bring back loving memories of dearly departed grandparents, my Granddad would have loved the celebrations planned for tomorrow and I know that my Nan and I will both look at each other with that look ..........on a more positive note, had to double check the man holding Sian as a baby, can't remember my OH looking that young and handsome!! what happened there then?? roflxx (mind you he could very well say the same about me!! lolxx)

As always, thank you for taking the time to read and look at my blog and for the lovely comments, I really appreciate them.....xx

Thursday, October 2, 2008

Well!

I have an announcement to make......a few weeks ago, Anne and Sam, over on Tag you're it, asked me if I would consider becoming part of their design team - and so I have joined along with Dawn, Kath and Sarah in becoming part of the new team! So, I hope that you will all pop over to the Tag you're it blog and join in the fun....

This weeks theme is "Altered Fabric Flowers" and here's my take:-

The background of the tag is my latest fav technique!, the flower started off white and has been embossed, distressed, sprayed, stamped and beaded, the flower in the centre was stamped with a text stamp a brad thro' the middle and of course the usual beaded pin! finished it off....

Inspired piece....

I know I've already posted today, but, I wanted to post this piece too..... during my Ally Pally visit, and in the post further down, I mentioned that I stood watching Leandra from paperartsy, well, taking with me her techniques I have made this atc......

The base is white card which has been inked over with distress inks, the base was then glimmer misted and then stamped with the paperartsy bubbles stamp. Using a cuttlebug embossing file the side was embossed and then hi-lighted with a gold dauber. The image was stamped onto a leftover piece of alcohol inked card and mounted, the edges of the atc were distressed using a cutting tool, bling and doodles finished it off.....irl the colours are a little more vibrant!

Oh what a lovely day we had....

the day we went to Ally Pally!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yesterday the famous "7" headed off for our twice yearly jaunt to Ally Pally and a great time was had by all. The drive down there was misty/foggy but during the day the sun came out and it was gorgeous.... Saw fabulous demos by Leandra, from Paperartsy, which meant, of course, having to spend absolutely loads!! and gorgeous creations on other stalls too. Its also a fantastic opporunity to meet up with friends met on forums - I met Clare for lunch which was really lovely. We all came home with full bags, empty purses (well apart from the £5 saved for a McD's tea on the way home!! lolx). It was a great day out in great company, thanks girls! see you all again next Saturday! lolxx

Right, down to proper blog stuff!! lolxx Thank you all for the lovely comments on my AI piece, I'd never done anything like it before, so am glad that it went ok....

Over on Tag you're it this week there's a sketch to follow, so here's my take:-

In the Pink at 30!

A friend turns 30 at the weekend. I can show her card here, cos, as a new parent she's got her hands far too full to go blog hopping!! lolxx

The card base is pink pearlescent and it doesn't matter where I go to take the picture the top always looks a different colour to the bottom (I even got Steve to photograph it yesterday, but, his photos are the same!). The papers are all scraps I've rescued !! (Reggie!! lolx) or had in the "scraps" box - the magnolia image has been coloured in using water colour pencils, primas and flowers, cricut circle and rub ons finish it all off!

I was recently asked by Wendy who produces the blog for Papermaze to do an article for their blog using alcohol inks - and it was published today - so, drop on over and let me know what you think, I hope that it inspires you to have a go with those inks and create some lovely pieces - if you don't have the supplies, Vanessa has put a link to items in her shop.

I prepared three items for the piece, one the cd is several posts down, the other was a layout, again from my Nans 88th party and the second a card using the inked acetate method!

All the papers on the layout are alcohol inked - a scrap was used to make the tag too.....The metal tag on the card has also been inked, and the butterflies were made by stamping onto waste acetate and when dry cutting out, adding some stickles to add bling finished it off!

Old things....

I've been reading on a lot of blogs and forums lately about using up all that "old" stash we have lurking about. I'm a great one for getting hold of all the latest papers, but, can never cut them or use them incase I need them for that "special" something - needless to say I have an awful lot of "old" stash....so, taking the lead from some of my forum/blog friends, I decided to make this card using some of it

...as usual, if there isn't beads on my cards you can find the fantasy film butterfly!! lolxx

AI keyrings....

Guess who's found the AI's (alcohol inks) again.....isn't it strange how you use things within finishing them off and then they sit in the craft box until discovered again, several months later, with new found vigour!

The base of these keyrings is shrink plastic covered with AI's and shrunk, a piece of friendly plastic is placed on top and warmed then combed out, the edges are finished off with a krylon pen and then the whole thing is utee'd....one has a Tim Holtz clasp on and the other a keyring fixing....

Must say that IRL the colours are more browny/bronze, as you're all aware my photographic skills leave a lot to be desired!! lolxx

Altered CD

Being so highly critical of my work there's not many pieces I can actually say I like, let alone "love" - but, this piece is just so....vibrant, so bright, so unlike my usual "distressed" almost "grundgy" pieces.....but, I can honestly say "I like this!".......

The blue, almost turquoise, centre panel is "stream" distress ink with the silver mixative and stamped over, the bits cut out from around the sides have been used to make the punched swirls for the embellishments, the metal "fun" tag has been inked too, and the little flowers, are once again, remments of another inked piece......and of course, the obigatory beaded pin!! lolxx

Brothers turn....

Busy ol' time of the year for Birthdays in our Family, August, so, here's another one!

My Brothers card this time.....

The background was created using distress inks and spritzed with cosmic shimmer mica powder then overstamped with brown ink and various stamps. Chipboard stars were painted with inks and aged using krylon pen, they were then added to Prima paper circles..... - Edwin and his pencil were stamped, water coloured and hi-lighted using glossy accents....

The main image on Dad's card was actually a Paperbag studio stamp........ thanks for the queries...

Thanks for looking and the comments, really appreciate it..

Sisterhood 23 of the blogging stampers

I have joined the "Sisterhood 23 of the Blogging Stampers" and I'm really looking forward to getting involved in something new and getting to know my fellow "sisters".

In this post I'm supposed to tell you all about me...so, here goes.....I'm addicted to rubber stamps! I've no idea how many I've got and I have no intention of counting them up either! lol, every single piece of art I've created has a rubber stamp on it somewhere - all, that is apart from one piece where I was challenged to create a piece without! boy, that took my breathe away, something that doesn't happen very often let me tell you!! lolx, I felt quite ill for a while, but, rose to the challenge! I dabble in all forms of crafting, and love it all. I'm self employed, married to Steve - photographer extrodinare, Mum to Sian nearly 18 (just had AS results) and Josh 16 (expecting GCSE results on Thursday!) guess what the stress levels in this house have been of late lolx!! and I have the best behaved, most gorgeous weimaraner in the world called Ty......
