Tando creative

For the next few weeks on a Tuesday and Thursday I will be publishing some results using various techniques on White Chipboard shapes being created by Di Oliver over at Tando Creative. Both, Joanne and I, will be using the same technique base, but, obviously with "our take" on the technique and using different shapes....

So, the first technique is:- DISTRESSING

There are loads of different distressing technqiues out there but for these two pieces I have used just two.

The first one:-

I coloured the piece using distress ink swooshed onto a mat and then lifted with a blending tool - this was then splashed with water and the following effect created:-

you can see where the water was splashed....this piece was then used to create:-

the stamp is the current freebie from Craft stamper, the circles were hi-lighted with a white pen and the outside daubbed with gold acryllic.

For my second piece - I swished three colours of distress inks onto my mat and spritzed with water from my mister bottle. For this technique just give the ink a few spritzes - if you are too heavy handed the chipboard drinks the ink and it gives you a very weak colour base - too much water can also cause the chipboard to seperate. I then added the shape to the "watered ink" and swished it around allowing all of the shape to become coloured. When dry I then dropped water onto the piece and added colour to the edges with the blending tool (I forgot to take a picture at this stage) with the piece I created:-



The centre image is a stamp which has had some white lines added. you can see how the water/ink have coloured the background. Doodles and bling finish the pieces off.
