Altered Star

Each month, the "Girls" set each other a challenge - just a little something (and thats quite literal if its my turn!!) different to try....Last month Janina gave us each a chipboard star to alter...we should have handed them back to her the Saturday we all went to Ally Pally, but, gave them back this weekend...so, here's mine...

Front:-

The background was coloured using daubers, then a piece of torn paper glued to the side. A piece of co-ordinations was run thro' the cuttlebug with an embossing folder - theis was then sanded. The masque is made from clay which was coated with mica powders before being "set" swirled wire with beads finish off his head!! lol - stamping and embossing finished it all off.

Back:-
The background on this one was from a HOTP paper pack, and then a purple onion swirl stamp was embossed with gold. The clock/face centre point is a gorgeous stamp and an old favourite of mine, I only used part of it....then hi-lighted using watercolour pencils and a bit of stickles. A shrink plastic invoke stamped embellie, grungeboard crown finished it off. (its sitting at an odd angle due to the masque on the other side!! roflxx).

Janina now has a gorgeous star book with loads of different stars...serious eye candy that one.

In two weeks we hand Janet her fan piece....and Karen has already set her next challenge an A5 size canvas......watch this space.

Thank you to everyone for their interest in the new challenge blog yesterday. Please spread the word around and hopefully we'll get loads of participants in our very first week (and following weeks!! lolxx) There will be some candy on offer for the first week....so make sure your calenders have all been marked ready for the 15th...xx

oooo I love this Carol. The shape of the star for starters and the papers and that mask is fab. I think my favourite element would have to be the stamp of the clock face too - so unusual. Well done. :)
