One for the ladies

is the theme this week over on the Tando Creative blog and I've created this card for one of my Aunts…

I had fun creating this piece.  The base layers were patterned paper that had really washy colours and pattern, so I stamped over them with harlequin and chicken wire stamps….added a bit of pastel and some odd bits of stronger patterned paper and then taking a piece of corrugated card I scraped paint (I always use paperartsy fresco paints)  over the top and then added distress stickles.  Taking a Tando butterfly, three small flowers and a flower and stem….I painted with paints and added doodles to add shading….the flower doesn't have any shading all colour variations are done using the paints…even the white dots (snowflake and applied using a pencil tip)…….

Paperartsy

Over on the Paperartsy blog this week, Ellen Vargo, has been sharing her graphic style using her new stamps….I did buy a couple of sets a couple of weeks ago and so, using her techniques as inspiration I created these:-

I made the board with inks instead of paints and then cut up my back plate before adding the stamping…I did stamp in ink for this set of notecards but the next time I'm going to try the techniques shared on a large canvas…(mine you, got to wait for the other sets to arrive before I do that!!! lol)

Tando monthly challenge

for February the theme is:- Passion - well, February being the month of love what else could it be??

this week its my turn to share my piece:-

the base is a mixed media board which I applied grunge paste thro' the harlequin stencil - whilst wet I cut into the paste using the edge of my spatula.  I then attached a heart from the grab bag and a couple of birds with one branch - I adhered these using heavy medium paste.  Once dry I painted over the entire piece with three different shades of paperartsy fresco paints…..I then added some treasure gold to add hi-lights to the birds and paste pieces…… the "love birds" stamp is part of a very old paperartsy stamp.

Pop on over to the challenge blog and if you join in you might be the lucky winner of some fab Tando goodies.

Love n kisses

is the theme this week over on the Tando Creative blog…its my turn to kick off the week so I've created this:-

The base is a Tando Creative "karens frames - large gothic arch" - the inner section was covered with some pink wood effect paper from an Authentique - Smitten pad,  the edges were then filed back and then edged with distress ink and then treasure gold.  The image is a new paperartsy stamp - designed by Darcy - Janet and I went to Stamperama in Stevenage on Sunday and we both bought the set!!!  so watch out for more! the image was painted using the new limited edition paperartsy paints (also bought on our travels!!) the words are from the Authentique pad.  The outer frame was coloured using distress ink and then stamped with a kaiserkraft stamp before the edges were given the treasure gold treatment.

Don't forget to visit the Tando creative blog this week as we have a new post most days.

Red and Black

is this weeks theme over on the Tando creative blog - there have been some gorgeous pieces and today its my turn to share this canvas:-

the base is an atc sized canvas which I painted with London bus paperartsy fresco paint then I added black dress paint to the edges….I also painted a Tando small compass and a small key with black dress paint and a heart with the london bus.  Once dry I added a layer of Ranger crackle glass to the compass and key, and when fully dry I rubbed over the pieces with red treasure gold to hi-light the cracks.  The heart was triple embossed with clear utee.  On the edges I added some black washi tape and added distress inks to some white tape to make it red!  The edges of the canvas had some treasure gold rubbed into them to finish it all off.

Birthdays….

are abound in January…..my SIL turned 50 the other week and this is the card and gift tag I made for her:-

The card is made with Graphics 45 papers - the dress form is a rubber stamp which has been stamped onto white card stock and then paper pieced, the edges were then inked with distress ink…..flowers and pins finished off the card.

the tag is a large manilla tag which had clear embossing paste added thro' a tim holts layering stencil - distress stains were then added to the tag and the edges inked with distress ink.  The flower and base is an art part and was coloured using distress inks and then stamped with a polka dot stamp, a large button with a large bling piece finished off the centre….the happy birthday was stamped from a JoFY set, the ribbon was coloured using the same stains, a pin and dangle finished it all off…..
