Good Morning Bloggers...what a week hey? wish this weather would make its mind up one minute its bare legs and skirts the next its back on with the jumpers!! lolxx
Its week 3 over at SCD and the theme is BIRDS - they are everywhere at the mo aren't they? with gorgeous images, both in stamp and printed form, so can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.
Here's my take:-
The background was coloured using distress inks and then doodled around the edges. The bird image is one of T!m's out of the new Visual Artistry packs...wow they seriously lovely!, I did add an eye tho!! lolxx he looked a bit odd without - the edges were stamped using a couple of stamps out of the stamp drawer.....
Just a reminder that this week is the last week for TWINCHIES - next week there will be a different challenge and theme...and also we have our very first Guest Designer joining us for the month...so, do pop on over to SCD and join us..... looking forward to seeing all those Bird Twinchies....

Polka Doodle...
Another new challenge blog on the block!! and my friend, Kath, is going to be one of their DT'ers....so, I thought I'd give it a go...also, June is laden with Birthdays and Weddings so I thought I'd take advantage of these challenges to get my cards made....
For their first week they've set a sketch challenge - here's the sketch...
and here's my take on it:-
I'm not that good at following sketches...but, i don't think its too far out...lolxx the background is co-ordinations cardstock run thro' the cuttlebug with an embossing folder and then sanded, the two circles were cut on the cricut, again out of co-ordinations cardstock - the inner circle went thro' the cuttlebug and was embossed and then sanded....the patterned paper is 7 gypsies, the flowers have some old flowers in the middle with wire stems which I wrapped around a pencil and then pulled out to make tendrills....I stamped the image on Saturday from Angs' GIGANTIC collection of stamps!!! roflxx - that image is lovely isn't it...might just have to go on my wish list that one!!

the girls next challenge.....
...so, after the jigsaw pieces, came the star and now the fan.....
now that Janet has got her fan piece I can show you....it started off as part of a five piece fan kit with harlequin patterns on both sides....the top was left "bare" then pieces of black paper with text print added in strips at angles, this was then stamped and embossed with cosmic shimmer utec...which was then sprayed with cosmic shimmer mist. A piece of white paper was coloured using chalks and then the text was stamped. Some wire was curled around a pencil and this was then fitted behind the text... a metal embellishment and some crafty notions dew dropz were added and voila...
The other side was painted with daubers whilst wet some ultra fine black glitter was dropped on the top. The top was stamped and embossed in gold. The face was stamped onto text paper and only part adhered to the fan, an invoke stamp was used on shrink plastic and adhered to the bottom....can't wait to see them all together bet they look fab!!
Had a good day teaching yesterday....the girls made some gorgeous books and all so different. Keep an eye out for some more teaching days and some more great and different ideas....one of which is a metal arch which Ang and I are hoping to organise. If you live in the area and are keen to try something different give me an email and I'll let you know what we're up to.....

and, finally....
the day has arrived.....our new challenge blog, "SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT" is officially launched....and I do hope that lots of you will pop by and play along.....
The idea is...that each month a new challenge is announced and each week a different theme for that challenge is announced....hopefully, this will encourage loads of people to play along and try things that they might not necessarily do....so, with this in mind,
MONTH ONE= TWINCHIES (a twinchie is 2" square - so a lovely size to start off with)
WEEK ONE THEME = "WINGS"
so, here's my w1/m1 (had to get that in somewhere!! lolxx) Wings based Twinchie...
...the background is chalked and then stamped in sepia with a cherrypie distress background stamp, the arrow is from Tim Holtz Visual Artistry "journey" pack and the image is by Art Journey stamps - he was coloured in using watercolour pencils.....the text was done on the pc and inked.....guess what the good ol' gold dauber finished off the edges! now thats a surprise!! lolxx
I really hope that you will pop on over to SCD and join in the fun and see what my fellow DT'ers have come up with....this week we also have some gorgeous blog candy to give away to one lucky participant....and we have got some very talented guest designers joining us in the coming months....hope to see you there xx

Triangle...
Made this at the last Bramford crop - just played and it fell into shape....
I took a white piece of card and coloured it using various chalk inks....I then stamped over it with various Tim Holtz ztamps.....the off set mount was a piece of basic grey paper which I stamped then hi-lighted with a white pen....both saying stamps are from Tim Holtz too.....his bird, raised on three d foam, a couple of metal stars and some black pearls finish off the bottom. The apex of the triangle is an invoke stamp and some fibres finish it all off.
Don't forget to check the new challenge blog, Something completely Different, on Friday when it goes "live" - fab challenge and also some gorgeous blog candy for one lucky blogger.....

Altered Star
Each month, the "Girls" set each other a challenge - just a little something (and thats quite literal if its my turn!!) different to try....Last month Janina gave us each a chipboard star to alter...we should have handed them back to her the Saturday we all went to Ally Pally, but, gave them back this weekend...so, here's mine...
Front:-
The background was coloured using daubers, then a piece of torn paper glued to the side. A piece of co-ordinations was run thro' the cuttlebug with an embossing folder - theis was then sanded. The masque is made from clay which was coated with mica powders before being "set" swirled wire with beads finish off his head!! lol - stamping and embossing finished it all off.
Back:-
The background on this one was from a HOTP paper pack, and then a purple onion swirl stamp was embossed with gold. The clock/face centre point is a gorgeous stamp and an old favourite of mine, I only used part of it....then hi-lighted using watercolour pencils and a bit of stickles. A shrink plastic invoke stamped embellie, grungeboard crown finished it off. (its sitting at an odd angle due to the masque on the other side!! roflxx).
Janina now has a gorgeous star book with loads of different stars...serious eye candy that one.
In two weeks we hand Janet her fan piece....and Karen has already set her next challenge an A5 size canvas......watch this space.
Thank you to everyone for their interest in the new challenge blog yesterday. Please spread the word around and hopefully we'll get loads of participants in our very first week (and following weeks!! lolxx) There will be some candy on offer for the first week....so make sure your calenders have all been marked ready for the 15th...xx
