Whimsical birds over on Tando Creative

Oh my I can't believe its nearly 4 months since my last blog post! time has gone so quick and life has changed so much…..

Today I've hi-jacked the Tando Creative blog… The monthly kit teamies were all set a kit of large whimsical birds and as I love those birdies I've joined in too.

When I first received the kit it reminded me of those photo booths that are all the rage at weddings and parties so that's what I did for my first make.  I've also added their baby in the corner (this is not included in the kit)

the second image is my usual grungy piece lol….

All kits available from Tando Creative and include three large birds with crowns, legs, wings and three a4 backboards.

Tando colour weeks

Hello,

From a very sheepish part of blogland, actually does anyone visit anymore? I think its all insta nowadays isn't it? perhaps I should update myself….

Anyway, August is now at an end, where did that go? we've had an eventful month - a new great nephew, Theo, was born and he's just adorable.  Josh came home from Japan and is now settled in Ipswich.  And I became another year older lol

Anyway, due to lots of things I missed my August tag, which was a shame as it featured the stamps and stencils from my very talented Tando Teamie, Fiona… so, here it is…

the stencil is by Tando and is the moon ray, with some circles from the moon phase stencil.  The dragonflies, I think, are from one of plates of chocolate baroque stamps Fiona also designed.
I must say, that I've never had any chocolate baroque stamps before and I was really impressed with the quality and the image of the stamp… the stamps are really detailed and they didn't fail to stamp every time… will definitely keep a look out for some more to add to my stamp collection.

this week its the September colour theme over on the Tando Blog, and here is my September tag…

I love this technique, which I learnt in a Tracey Scott class.  I have adapted it a little, but, the principle is the same….

Tando items used on these two tags:-
Pack 5 long tags
Fiona Stencils - moon phase and moon rays

June and July Colour tags

Hello,

This year is flying, I can't believe that we're in July…. where did June go?

This year over on the Tando blog I'm using the long tags - one for each month in the themed colours and on the back I'm writing a synopsis of the months events, the plan is that at the end of the year I can look back and see the events of the year….

July's colour palette is:-

I liked the image so used it for my tag:-

I've used the hexagons from the tando shape bag on this tag too.
The flowers are stamps by Tracy Scott for Paperartsy, they didn't quite fit the same shape, but, I do like the look… all painted using the same paperartsy paints.

One of the flowers close up:-

Due to life events, I didn't get to post my June tag; here is the colours to use:-

and here is my tag - the background was created using watercolours on watercolour paper, I then painted a feather, a technique taught by Kate Crane in one of her live classes…. a large Tando butterfly, trellis and small heart was also painted using watercolours and doodled.

May Colour Week

 Hello,

I hope that everyone had a good Bank Holiday weekend, its back to work for me today….but, first I'm going to share with you May's tag - which is also over on the Tando Creative blog.

The colour way this month is:-

and here is my finished tag:-

I was tempted not to add the bird - but something needed to be added to match the rest of my tags… this was the tag prior to the bird being added:-

I don't know why but this reminds me of a bar of chocolate lol

tando colour week

Hello,

I can't believe that its over a month ago since I last wrote on my blog.  With insta and facebook I don't think too many people look at blogs like they used to do they?

Its my turn over on the Tando blog today with my April colour tag….

This is Aprils colour palette

and here is my tag

this month I decided to get the gelli plate out and have a play - I treated myself to a large plate a while ago and hadn't used it.  My first prints weren't too good as they had the appearance of being 'oily' - I did persevere tho' and ended up with quite a few pages to play with….

I also added some offcuts of paper to the tag to add some texture.  three butterflies from the grab bag were also painted and addled.  The stamped text is from Tim's tiny text plate….

Hello, and welcome to my little, somewhat neglected, part of blogworld….

Here is tag 3 of 2021

Tando products used:long tag, distressed harlequin mini stencil, harlequins from the shape bag, dragonfly (although I have been informed it should have been a butterfly as its too early in the year for dragonflies lol), the dragonfly is from the 2 part dragonfly set.  All available from the Tando website.

The backs of my tags are being painted in black and at the end of each month I am writing a precise of the months events, will be good to look back at the end of the year .

Tando Colour week

 Hello,

Hope that my visitors are keeping safe and well, and, if you're visiting from 'upt north' keeping warm too.

This week its the colour week over on the tando creative blog.  The main reason I do these posts is that it makes me work with colours I wouldn't usually use, or colour combos that are out of my comfort zone, so, this month is nothing different - I'm not really a green person so this really pushed me.

here is the colour palette for February

and here is tag 2/12

Tando product used:-
long tag
mini birds
mini flowers

Thanks for joining me today, stay safe.

Things with wings

Hello,

I hope that those of you that still visit my little corner in bogland are keeping safe and well in these horrid times.

I've been having a play at my craft table and came up with this project for this week's Things with wings theme.  I've used one of the new dragonflies which are gorgeous - I've added a layer of stickles on his wings as all dragonflies glitter and shimmer in the sun, although, it seems ages since I've seen any.  we are lucky that we get a good variety of dragonflies in the garden, beautiful blue ones (whose name I've forgotten…. hawker lol) that flitter and float…. umm soon be summer.

Anyway, here it is…

the background was paper artsy paints, with stamping and doodling with stablios and posca pens… some washi tape from Elizabeth crafts, and a saying from Tim Holtz's tiny text stamp set finishes it off..

Do pop on over to the Tando blog to see some other winged projects….

Happy New Year

Hello and Happy New Year….

Hope that everyone is staying safe and well.  It was a strange Christmas wasn't it? and now lockdown 3, with the figures raising daily its nice to be able to escape into my craft room and lose myself with my craft supplies…. although, if I'm not careful I'm going to get lost in there soon it definitely needs a good clear up!

This week over on the Tando Blog its the first colour week of 2021 and I'm up today.  Each year I choose a different element to do my colour challenges and this year I've decided to use the long tags - these are such a lovely shape so I'm looking forward to creating the next 11 tags.  I've also decided to paint the back of the tags and journal the months events… will be good to read back this time next year!

So, the colour theme for January 2021 is:-

and here is tag 1:-

I've used paper artsy paints, sequin waste stencil and a piece of paper I had cut a circle in.  The smaller circle is from the inner of a pdq receipt roll (Yep I look everywhere for things to use lol).  The butterfly came from the grab bag of butterflies, I dampened the wings and then rolled back before painting….

so, do you remember my last colour post for Tando - I did say that I would complete my 366 challenge on a daily basis and keep daily notes of what was happening…. well, I did it…

Do pop on over to the Tando blog, my DT teamies have some fab projects on show.

Tando's colour week

 Hello,

I seem to only blog on a Tando week now a days… lol, and today is no exception… this week is the colour week and so I'm presenting my 12th, and final, file and folders for the 366 challenge project.

The colour palette was:-

and here is my December folder and files

As its nearly Christmas, I decided that this month I would paint each file in one of the colours and keep it quite simple, but, festive.  The back I've left blank, but, painted, and I intend to write that week's happenings on it as a reminder of what 2020 has to offer us as it comes to a close…

My daily journalling doesn't get any better! and I've now finished the first two weeks of September, so a way to go until I've finished. But, I intend to journal daily thro' December and incorporate a daily event - I will let you see them, if anyone still visits here lol, in the new year..

but, for now, here's my September efforts..

What a week!

Good Afternoon, on this bright and fresh remembrance Sunday.

Its so unseasonal out there, so warm for this time of year, I'm usually wrapped up in jumpers and socks but today I sit here in a t-shirt and my flip-flops!

This week has been one of those weeks! after, what 10 months, of managing to avoid the virus, not knowing anyone who has been infected and being ultra careful about not going out, other than to the shops, and work, I came into contact with someone who had tested positive.  The young girl in our office came back positive on Tuesday! to be honest it was a shock to the system.  You can get so that you're aware, but, as it doesn't affect you directly its almost like its not there, iykwim? Don't get me wrong, my hands are dry and cracked from continual washing and hand sanitising, trolleys are always wiped down, my desk and everything on it is wiped down every morning, but the stark reality of having it in your life was somewhat of a shock.  Anyway, two tests later I tested negative, but, the tests are unpleasant at best, and its something I don't want to do again in a hurry.  Anyway, that was Tuesday to Thursday, then Friday back in the office, but, Monday onwards working from home again.

In the meantime, over on the Tando blog, this week was the colour week.  So, folder and file number 11 for the 366 challenge has been completed.

The colours for this week were

and my folders and files are:-

realistically its a bit late in the year to join 2020's 366 challenge, and 2021 would be 365 but if you fancy a challenge you could still join in.

Have a good week peeps, and don't forget - "think hands, think face think space" and stay safe xx

Happy hallowe'en

Hello, its Hallowe'en today and so that we are all in that spooky, quirky sort of moody the weather is deciding to play its part, pouring down, cold, windy and dark… its nearly two o'clock as I type this but its so dark outside.  I suppose the pending news of the PM giving an address at 4pm is adding to it all….

This week Tando had some lovely items on Hochanda… the new product for the show was the matchboxes… they are really lovely and come with some inners for your to decorate.

I took photos on my phone and didn't take any proper ones before I sent them off, but, here is my matchbox and inners

I really enjoyed doing these.  The paint is paper artsy and I've added some extra marks using florescent poscas… my new fav…

Thank you for looking and stay safe everyone xx

Tando colour week

Hello, oh boy what a week! full on at work, personal issues and the weather - all of a sudden we are thrown into Winter… the fires been on, but, possibly next week the heating is going to have to join it!!

This week over on the Tando blog its been the colour week.  As you know, I've been using the colours to decorate my 366 folders and files, and this month is no exception….

Here is the colour palette for October

and here is my file and folders

so, I've been doing these all year… and I thought it was time to share what goes in them.
Each week has a template and folder strip of paper, each folded section depicts a day of the month, one side is the date and the other the image… here are 1-15th August, both sides.

When the month is finished I adhere them to the folders and stitch into the file… (you will have to excuse the images I can't draw, but, I do try lol)

I will share the entire project at the end of the year.

I will let you into a secret - this year is going so fast, even if it is virus prone, when writing the month on my leaf I wrote August - so, had to do it all again lol…. I was very conscious when I wrote September I half expected to write it wrong… lol

Colour post - August 2020

Hello,

I should have posted on Thursday, however, my battery in my camera was flat and I couldn't take the photos, so I charged my battery and wrote up the post to add the pictures! However, life got in the way, now coming back to it a couple of days later blogger has updated and remove both posts!! ohhhh still, here we are and trying to work out how to insert things, so hopefully you'll be able to see my colour post on behalf of Tando Creative!

The colour theme this month was:-

..this year I'm using the colour theme to decorate the folders and files for the 366 Challenge - therefore, here are my August files and folder…
