Artist Trading Coins

Hello, I'm just coming to the end of two weeks off work and its been a lovely relaxing time (apart from starting Sian's old bedroom!!, several trips to the dump and all that decorating entails!) - its also given me a chance to catch up on some crafty projects and to partake in the Paperartsy fortnightly challenge - the theme for the last two weeks are Artist Trading Coins so I'm in!! lol

Here is one of the coins I've created…

The base is a Tando Creative AT coin and I added grungepaste thro' a stencil… I then added Paperartsy fresco chalk acrylic on the top, blending in four colours… I then stamped one of the flowers from Tracy Scotts ETS07 set, coloured and cut out and adhered to the top of the coin - a couple of stickers were then added to finish it off….

Tando - September colours

Hi,

Can you believe that its September already? before we know it it will be Christmas - how many crafters, I wonder, have already started on their Christmas cards?

Today, its my turn over on the Tando Creative blog.  This week is the colour theme week, and the palette for September is:-

lovely autumnal colours aren't they?

In keeping with other months, here is my mixed media board number 9

One of the larger chipboard boards was used as my base and was painted using acrylic paint.  The bubbles stencil was also used on the background along with some doodling.

My focal image was some elements left over from the whimsical birds 2 set.

Tando Anything goes week...

Hello, over on the Tando blog this week the theme is "anything goes" - I've decided to share my ATC's  (both a card and some coins)

The thing with the crafty world is that things always come around again…. ATC's were all the rage a few years ago with everyone swapping on a regular basis and forums having  monthly swaps, I've got ring binders full of ATC's from swaps and also my own challenge of create an ATC a day!

So, a few months ago a friend of mine said, fancy an artist trading coin swap?, what?? whats one of those, searched the web and there were a total of 2 posts! today there are loads.. and to join in the fun here is my offering for Tando this week:-

Up first is my ATC (card) …

The base can be found here - also used was the bubbles stencil which is fast becoming my no 1 stencil!!

Coin 1

The coin bases can be found here - also used on this card was the dot stream stencil and a butterfly from the a grab bag

Coin 2

Sequin waste stencil along with some hearts from the mini range on this one.

Coin 3

The bubbles stencil was used again along with three stars from the mini stars pack.

Acrylic paint was used on all ATC's…

August Colour week

Hello and welcome to my little corner of blogland.

Today its my turn over on the Tando Creative blog and this week its August colour week.

The vibrant colour base for August is:-

…. and here is mixed media board 8/12

Acrylic paint was added to the base with white paint stencilling added…. I added a thin layer of white paint so that my stamped text would stand out more.  I added a text box using an aquarelle pencil.  I painted a butterfly white and added black doodling using my pencil (My butterfly is inspired by a day out butterfly watching with Steve - its based loosely on the marbled whites we were fortunate to see).

Do pop on over to the Tando Creative blog for some more colour projects this week.

Domino week

Hello, hope you're all having a good Tuesday.

This week over on the Tando Creative Blog the theme is "dominos" - here is my piece:-

My base is created using three of the tando creative dominoes found here.  I taped them up on the reverse before adding acrylic paint and doodling …. I then added a stamp and added definition to the flowers and leaves on her head dress.  Once all dry, I removed the tape and mounted them onto black cardstock separating them slightly.

Do pop on over to the Tando blog this week as there are loads of domino projects planned.

Paperartsy Transfer fortnight

Hello, what lovely weather we are currently having - although the garden could do with some rain! unlike where my son is, he is currently living in Japan where floods and an earthquake have left the area in a vunerable state.

This fortnight over on the Paperartsy blog the theme is "transfers" - there are loads of different methods detailed, but, I have used my Tim Holtz transfers to add a focal point to my piece:-

My base is a cat food box which was die cut using a large primitive heart die.  I then took out my Paperartsy paints:- snowflake was painted on the base and then I added bougainvillea, carribbean sea and tangerine… I then stencilled bougainvillea over the top using sequin waste.  Black paint was then added to the outside and once dry doodled using a white pen.  Once everything was dry I added some transfers from Tim Holtz…. some small stickers were also added.

Tando Colour week

Hello, hope you're all enjoying this gorgeous weather we're having at the moment.  I absolutely love it - I'm defiantly a warm girl! hate the cold.

Today sees the start of another colour week over on the Tando Creative blog and I'm kicking off the week with my mixed media board number 7

First of all, lets see the colour palette for July:-

and here is my piece:-

I have used:-
Tando Mixed media board:- 74mm x 138mm as my base, this was given a coat of DecoArt tinting base.  As I didn't have the right colours I decided to use the darker colours, Quinacridone Violet and yellow iron oxide and then for the lighter tones to mixed with titan buff… these four colours made up my base… using Napthitol red light I stencilled thro some sequin waste to finish off the base.

My bird was painted using the same colours and comes from the whimsical bird 1 set, glossy accents added some hi-lights to my bird.

A sticker sentiment finished it all off.

Do pop on over to the Tando creative blog during the week for some more colour themed projects.
