Domino

This week over on the Tando Creative blog the theme has been dominos…

Today its my turn to share my domino…

I took a blank Tando creative domino, added distress inks to my mat and spritzed with water - I then dragged my domino thro' and dried using my heat gun.  I then stamped this gypsy lady - a stamp I have had for yonks and is made by Cherry Pie Stamps, adding white hi-lights to her lips, eyes and the dangles on here forehead!!

I have plans for all my little projects - watch this space!

missing?

How time flies - I really don't know where this year is going…nearly September already!

I made this piece intending to take part in the Paperartsy challenge for the week, a few weeks ago, unfortunately, I pulled the tendons in my shoulder and to say it was painful doesn't even touch on it! couldn't sleep, couldn't eat! (mind you that part won't do me any harm!!) - it is getting better - but, I really don't want to go there again - anyhow, in the end I missed the deadline!! never mind, I still had fun making this…

The base is a 2" square piece of stampbord - for this piece I stamped a Lynne Perella stamp with black ink onto the base and then added distress ink.  I found that the colours really lost their vivid ump! so, I decided to try again, using inches, and inking first then stamping and this is the result.

Both use the same distress inks - big difference hey?

Here they are all together.

Each board was scrapped away to reveal the white board underneath - its ages since I played with stampbord this project has definitely regenerated my interest!

August Challenge over at Tando Creative

Its my turn to share my challenge piece over on the Tando challenge blog - this month the theme is:-

CRAZY LAYERS

My first layer was using grunge paste with the bullseye mask…I also added some beaded texture paste along the bottom and side.  Once this had dried, I added my second layer- which was to add paint to my page …then the third layer - washi tape and some neocolour 2 crayons around the edges.  I also added some painted lines to the page and along the bottom edge.  Treasure gold was then added to the raised areas…. three flowers and three butterflies from the mini packs were painted and then hi-lighted using white pen and edged with black pen before bling was added to the centre of the flowers.  A stamped phrase finished it off...

The theme runs for the month of August pop on over to the Challenge blog - there are prizes to be won!

Black and Grey

As its the first full week of the month the theme over on the Tando Creative blog is Black….and….this month Grey…

here is my piece:-

I started off with a blank ATC base and brayered on fresco paints in elephant, concrete and black dress….I then doodled around the edges and added hi-lights in grey.  Using stars from the mini range, I painted the outers using the grey paints and the block stars with black, doodling around the edges with black and silver pens.  The phrase is from a new set of Sarah Neuman stamps for Paperartsy.

Don't forget to pop on over to the Tando blog this week to see some more black and grey pieces.

Hope everyone is managing in this heat!

Paperartsy month 6

Month 6 already, where is the year going? July has been pretty hectic for us with holidays, birthdays and that very proud moment of Josh's graduation in Bristol - which is why I'm sat here at 7am on the last day for submission with my month 6 Darcy journal pages lol

Full details as ever over on the Paperartsy blog, here…. this month I decided to use my own colour schemes rather than follow the example to the best of my supplies! lol.  I love orange with blues and limes so decided to use that colour way.  Whilst looking for my grungepaste I came across some texture paste with glass beads and decided to use that in conjunction with my texture paste - I really like the result.

so, this month, I have pressed stencils into grunge paste rather than adding grunge thro' the stencils - rather mucky that stage!! lol

created a master board which I then ripped up and added to my pages.  Stencilled and doodled and generally had fun creating my pages.

Thank You Darcy for another fab set of pages for my journal, can't wait to see month 7 pages.

Paperartsy - art dolls

I really liked the first art doll created by Penny Nuttall over on the Paperartsy blog this week and so I've made one….

All details are over on the Paperartsy blog - once things have calmed down here this week (off to Bristol on Tuesday for Josh's graduation - where did those 3 years go?) I'm going to be having a go at the other dolls.
