Colour post - Tando Creative

Hi, its my turn to post over on the Tando Creative blog today.

This week the theme is one of our monthly colour choices and for June the colour ways are:-

not the kind of colours I usually use, but, hey thats the whole point of being challenged!

As with all the colour weeks this week its ATC time:-

To my tando creative ATC  base I added some scraps of paper before adding some fresco paint…I then added paperartsy paints in prawn, orchid, antarctic, cheesecake and butternut…these colours were also used to stencil thro' the mini stencils flourish and distressed sequins.  Texture paste was used on the mini stencil brick at the bottom of the atc… doodling and further paint effects were then added along with a saying from a paperartsy plate of stamps.

The winner for May is announced over on the blog today along with the announcement that the challenge is now finished.  A big Thank you to all that participated during the years that the challenge ran and a massive congratulations to all the winners….

Do pop on over to the blog to see what some of the other DT members have made using the June colours.

Things with wings

Hi, its my turn to post over on the Tando Creative blog today, and this weeks theme is:-

Things with wings

here is my piece:-

The base is one of the long tags which had texture paste added thro' the letters mask.  Once dry the tag was given a coating of black carbon paint.  I then sanded this back before adding sprays, treasure gold…I then added some aged copper embossing enamels - this is one from my stash that I'd had for some time, but, you can now purchase these products from the tando website.  The butterflies, from the mini range, were painted and then some texture paste added, this was then heated and then sprayed… an embossed stamped saying finished it off.

Don't forget that you can join in with the themes over on the Tando creative blog and for one lucky person there is a great prize up for grabs - pop on over to the blog and check it out…

Crackle week

Hi, its my turn over on the Tando blog today and the theme is:- Crackle.

I have come up with this:-

The base is a Tando creative mixed media board to which I added a coating of paint, then a layer of Paperartsy crackle glaze, before adding another layer of paint.  The heart and wings are from the wings and hearts set and the heart is from mdf and available at shows…. The heart, wings and crown were all given a layer of Wendy Veechi crackle texture paste and once dry given a coating of DecoArt media fluid acrylics…… the background was also given a mix of colours…. create was handwritten on the top to finish it off.

Do pop on over to the Tando Creative blog for more crackle effects this week.

White space - Paperartsy

Hi, Happy May Day!

I've been inspired over on the Paperartsy blog for the last fortnight with the fabulous white space projects and today I had some time to create and have made this card:-

its an unusual size card for me as I usually go for square cards, and its slightly bigger at 5" x 7" but it needed to be to accommodate the flowers from Paperartsy Eclectica plate EKC01 - the flowers were stamped onto smoothy cardstock and coloured using inktense pencils, some white doodling was added afterwards.  The butterly is from the same plate.  I stencilled some distress ink very lightly in the back ground and then attached the flowers.
