Secret Crafter Swap

Over on the Bubbly Funk Forum, Kathy organised a Secret Crafter Swap.  The principle was to create a piece of art, jewellery or project for a secret swappee, to make sure we knew some of our swappee's likes and dislikes we listed the things, ie colours, smells etc, that we liked....

Now that the secret is out of the bag and our swappers have all received our pieces we can now post about our work..

My Swappee was Pat:-

This is the parcel she opened:-

Pat listed one of her colour likes as Purple...so I wrapped her piece in purple and made a kraft rose from the tattered florals die and edged the petals with purple distress ink....a prima trinket and a little gift card finished off the wrapping...

inside was:-

The board hanging was paperblocked, painted and edged before being sealed (one of my fav techniques at the mo - Thanks to Hels Sheridan)...... then texture paste mixed with ferro was used thro' a studio 490 mask...this was then coloured using treasure gold.  Metal embellishments were added along with another flower made from coloured kraft and die cut....the grungeblocks were painted and sanded back and then given a touch of purple treasure gold.  I hope that Pat likes it...

I received this from Wendy:-

Congratulations

This month has seen the Engagement of my eldest Niece....Natasha to Russell - to celebrate their special event I've made them this:-

umm see a theme developing here??? lol - the base was paperblocked using crate papers 14 - then a wash of cream paint, sealed and then outlined.....the heart was grungepaste mixed with acryllic paint thro' a studio 490 stencil.  This was then covered in treasure gold....the rose was made using the tattered florals die and sprayed with perfect pearls mist....metal embellishments and a stamped sentiment finishes off the piece....

Tando Creative Challenge - May

Over on the Tando Challenge blog this month the theme is:-

PURPLE, WHITE AND BLUE

This can be in any gradients of the three colours and other colours can be used.

I've created a card:-

I've taken a white card blank, size A6, and masked off an area with post it notes - I've then built colour using cut and dry foam and a distress ink pad - a script stamp was then stamped using black ink - the sentiment is a stamp from Papersalon - my tando butterflies and flowers have been coloured using distress ink and then....the butterflies had glossy accents added and these have retained their colouring - the flowers were coloured using the same inks but had crackle glaze added, the purple flower looks pink to me!! lol - prima bling was added to finish it all off...

Pop on over to the Challenge blog and see what the other members of the DT have come up with...also, don't forget to visit the main Tando blog where you will see that Tando Creative are looking for some new DT members.....

Vintage Week

This week its Vintage week over on the Tando Creative Blog and its my turn to kick off the weeks pieces....

I seem to have developed a liking for this paperblocking, paint and then texture paste (this one is paperartsy grungepaste and black acrylic), with treasure gold over the top! so that is the base on this Tando Creative ATC base....I then coloured some kraft paper with red distress ink and cut out using the tattered florals die...making it up into the flower shown.  The frame is a Tando bookplate which was coloured using treasure gold and then a coating of distress glaze, the backing is from a graphics 45 paper pad, a couple of pins finished it all off.

Don't forget to pop over to the Tando blog during the week there are some great projects lined up by the DT.

Also, don't forget that Tando Creative are looking for 2 more DT members to join the team...please pop over to the blog to see the instructions for applying.
