25th Club

so, I hear you say whats that? over on the Bubbly Funk forum there are loads of great challenges to join in with....one if them, instigated by Gez last year, was to make so many christmas cards by the 25th of the month - although, come summer I'd had enough of Christmas, those that I made in the early part of the year definately helped with those "last minute" makes I always find myself having to do!

So, this year its being run again, but, instead of "free for all" its theme/receipe based!

January's receipe was from Joanne, and its was:-
Turquoise/blue and silver
Swirls of some description
Glittery bits - glitter, bling etc

so, here are my cards:-

both have "Miss Clause" from Funky kits as the main image, coloured in with water colour pencils the trim was hi-lighted with stickles....various papers in turquoise and silver and a swirl from an inkadinadoo pack and some gems were all added!

having a few technical problems tonight, the wireless mouse and keyboard on my laptop have just both decided to die! I'm a touch typist but its just taken me ages to type this!! roflxx

Over at SCD...

its time for my choice of theme this week and I chose:-

ANGELS

there are some gorgeous images and stamps out there at the mo, and I have a gorgeous Cherry Pie Stamp which I just love to bits and any excuse to use it is a must! There are some lovely named art stamp companys out there aren't there? Cherry Pie - wow, conjours up all sorts of mouth watering things and if you pop on over to the site you'll see some gorgeous stamps...plate upon plates of them! and if I'm honest I might just have one or two (or three or four) of them!! lol

anyway, here is my Angels Arch:-

base was white cardstock coloured with distress ink and edges were then darkened with the same ink A scroll stamp from Purple Onion was then stamped using the same ink pad, the angel was stamped onto a seperate piece of card and coloured using water colour pencils then mounted onto black cardstock. The additional stars and the word "Angel" are from an inkadinkadoo plate....the entire piece was spritzed with marshmallow glimmer mist and the stars and angels wings hi-lighted with a clear stardust pen.

Do pop on over to SCD and join in this week - can't wait to see what everyone has created...

Friday.....

Good Grief....where on earth has the week gone? one minute its Monday and the next its Friday!

Am I the only one to say "Thank you and Goodbye" to that snow? ...although, I understand that some of our Welsh friends are still under quite a bit of it.... it was ok for the first week and then I'd had enough - the holiday was over, back to work and normality and no theres no time for the nonsence of snow!!

Sian went back on Sunday! where did that month go? did someone steal some of it from me? It was fab having her home and the house was full and fun again! we had some fab girlie days and nights and now we've got to wait til Easter before she's home again. Poppy is safety parked in the drive after being driven for everyday for the last month probably wondering why she's being left alone!! lol (btw Poppy is Sian's little car!!).

Anyway, enough of my drivel! Its Friday and its SCD day! Its Ang's turn to choose our Arch theme this week and she chose Fashion!!

So, here it is, my Fashion Arch..
This is one of those things that just happened....the background is paper from basic grey, can't remember which pad as the front has fallen off...its got pattern pieces printed on it...the dress is a rubber stamp I've had for ages and the image was coloured in with water colour pencils, the handbags were on the same rubber plate and stamped onto coloured paper.....the tape at the bottom is from a sheet from my hero S!r T!m...and you'll never guess...the shoes, boots and hat are all a quickutz die... mind you, couldn't find my adapter plate for my sidekick (didn't have any room to get the bug out!) I bought a big box of those and do you think I could find them? ended up with double card to beef it out...you watch, I'll go and find them now!! lolxx

Pop on over to the SCD blog and see what gorgeous arches the girls have created this week and if you have time why don't you join in with us, we'd love to see what you all come up with...

Have a great weekend TFL xx

"New year"

So, here's my New Years Arch:-

First post of the year!

I've some exciting news to share with you....

There is a new challenge blog on block and its called:-

Vanilla Sugar

and I've been selected for the DT. The concept of the blog is to create home decor items, which will be very different from my usual art, but, a lovely challenge all the same. The challenges will run monthly so giving everyone loads of time to take part and join in the fun!

The blog goes live today and the challenge for January is:-

Coasters

Heres my effort:-

The background is a piece of chipboard to which a piece of sheet music, which had been coloured using distress inks and spritzed with glimmer mist, had been adhered. The clock is one of Sir T!m's and the text was created using some alphabet stamps. Mr Bunny checking his watch to ensure that it is indeed time for tea is from an Alice in Wonderland plate - he was then coloured in using watercolour pencils and hi-lighted with a white pen. The coffee mark is a new stamp in at Bubbly Funk and was stamped using sepia versafine ink. The coaster was edged with chalk ink and then a couple of layers of varnish added to protect it whilst in use....

Hope that you will pop along to the new blog and see the fab coasters created by the other DT members and have a go....
